Go For A Walk – Day 9

Day 9 of 100 Days of 100 Ways To Rule Your World

GO FOR A WALK

They say that walking at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes each time will do your mind and body so much good. I have to agree. I feel so much better physically, when I am out on the road every morning. Mentally, I feel sharper being out there exposed to the last of the night as it starts to become day. There in the midst of a new day, your vision changes to see all the natural light that is known as the “magic hour” to photographers and cinematographers. Things all around look wonderful. This dance of light, colors, and shade help clear your mind because everything is as it seems. There is nothing hidden by shadows or direct light in your eyes.

So get out there for at least 30 minutes (in the morning preferably). Walk, Jog, or Run…whatever you choose…but get moving.

Thank you,
Dave

Be An Early Riser – Day 8

Day 8 of 100 Days of 100 Ways To Rule Your World

BE AN EARLY RISER!

You’ve heard that old saying, “The early bird gets the worm.” There really is no better quote that pushes the need to be an early riser. After a restful night’s sleep your mind is ready to go. You are at your sharpest. So why not use that to your advantage?

Get up a little early (oh heck, go all the way and wake up an hour early). Remember, during that time while your adversary or competitor may be listening intently to the talking head’s on TV to catch up on the latest, overnight celebrity gossip, you are working diligently to set a positive tone for your entire day.

To get the worm (the positive tone for the day) do what works for you!

Write, Draw, Color, Paint, Read, or whatever makes you feel good. Take about 60 minutes and dedicate the entire time to that one activity and do it every day. Once you have made it a habit, you will wonder how you lived so long without doing this simple yet, life altering, activity.

A dose of reality: I know that I feel terrible on those days that I do not do my 1 hour of dedicated me time. It has become part of my day and I am now at a point that I feel lost when I don’t take just a few minutes, let alone the whole hour. Give it a try and you might never go back to living without doing it.

Thank you,
Dave

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff – Day 7

Day 7 of 100 Days of 100 Ways To Rule Your World

DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

Every day we have to do the things we don’t want to do because there is something about the task that irritates us. This irritation can be as simple as a mosquito buzzing around or the lawn mower next door or some jerk driving like a maniac. Remember, there are some things that are just NOT worth it. Swat the mosquito, remember the yard next door is only so big, and just pull over at the next convenience store and take a break.

You don’t have to put up with the attitude that dealing with small stuff will give you. You control how you feel. Feel better knowing that you don’t have to be irritated by the small stuff and once you start believing and living that fact the big stuff won’t be as bad.

Thank you,
Dave
