HER & HIM (Part II) by David Guerra

HER & HIM (the story continues) by David Guerra

The scene is the family kitchen and word has gotten back to them that a family member has betrayed their trust and has taken a mundane situation, twisted it and spun it so far out of control that people are starting to believe the situation is worse than what it truly is.

——

“You have got to realize,” he says as he takes a deep breath, “Being far away tends to skew the side of the conversation to the closest and certainly the loudest. By being present, the owner of the conversation can dictate its ebb and flow and most certainly its bias.

That may be why when the gap of distance is closed, and you remember this, the loud one cowered away, retracted to its dark corner, played the role of pity seeker and most certainly kept quiet because that was the best way to preserve the version of the truth that person has so skillfully played over and over in the minds of others. Did any of them ever stop to ask why?

No! No one ever bothers to ask. That is because the REAL cowardice comes from those that would rather hear the version already spoken and never ask whether there is truth to the words being spoken. So long, as there are cowards that want to hear the juicier side of the truth there will be a puppeteer dangling the strings and manipulating others.”

“Yes, I understand but why is it always the ones that are closest?” with a little sadness and frustration in her voice she asks.

“That is a good question. Jealousy, Anger, Fear, Strife, petty competition but mostly it is jealousy.”

“Jealousy?”

“We both know they wish they had half of what we have in our love and commitment to one another. They don’t want to covet it but they want it. They want it so bad they can taste it. What gets them is the realization that they are not willing to put in the hard work to get anywhere close to what we have. As Veruca Salt said in her song before she plunged down the bad egg indicator, ‘I don’t care how, I want it now.'” he reassured her.

“Why take it out on us, belittling us and twisting the truth?” she immediately adds, “you don’t have to answer that, I know.”

“Besides you and I know the truth,” he pulls her close, “and that is all that matters.”

“I know but it hurts.”

“I know,” he replies as he kisses her on the forehead and hugs just a little tighter.

More on the continuing saga of him and her coming soon.

Start Blogging – Day 17

Day 17 of 100 Days of 100 Ways To Rule Your World

START BLOGGING

If you are not already blogging, start now. Blogging is a great way of getting your message out there. Tell the world what you are passionate about. Tell the world that you got something to say and that you are going to say it.

Think you can’t do it? Don’t know what a blog really is? You are reading a blog right not. I have a message; no I have plenty of messages. I have a lot to say so I am saying it. Sometimes it might not be popular, it might not be what people want to read and worse still, it might be something directly about the reader and yet their vanity does not allow them to know it is about them (and people like them). However, having a blog also means you have a great responsibility.

I have a great responsibility when it comes to sharing information and talking about “friends” and “associates” and “family” while I do not name names I do draw from everyday life to cite real world examples about what is right and what is wrong in the world at-large. If you think you don’t have something to say, just take a step back, look around you, and you might just be astonished at just how much there is to say.

Who knows you might just start a discussion that you never thought you would be a part of, let alone create. Along the way you might just meet some new and interesting people.

Not sure where to go to start a blog. You start at BLOGGER.com or head on over to WORDPRESS.com to get your very own blog up and running.

Once, you have your blog up and running please let me know what your new blog’s web address is as I would like to read what you have to say.

Thank you,
David Guerra

Take More Pictures – Day 16

Day 16 of 100 Days of 100 Ways To Rule Your World

TAKE MORE PICTURES

If you are not capturing moments in time, you should start. If you are taking pictures, keep up the good work.
Get a dedicated camera (film or digital) and start clicking away. Do not be tempted to use your cellphone camera. While it will do in a pinch, it is not a camera. It is a phone that happens to have a camera built-in. Go ahead and get yourself a camera and start taking pictures. Take pictures of family, friends, plants, bugs, anything and everything. Just take pictures of events or solo shots it does not matter just start capturing moments.
If you need a reason to capture those moments forever. Think about it like this, taking pictures is a great way to see life in a different way. It forces you to fine tune, fine focus your vision to a little box of the world. Once you see that the world is unique with every shot you take, a better person and a better photographer you will become.
Still not sure what to take a picture of, then try this (or something like this): A couple of years ago, I took one photo of the day’s sunrise. I did this every day for a year, even if I took no other picture that day, I took it. It was a lot of fun and I became a better photographer for it. I also shared those daily images with my friends and family, that kind of fun was priceless.
Not sure what kind of camera you want/need. That’s OK with the quality of the cameras that are out on the market today you should have no problem finding one you can afford and use. There are plenty of great cameras out there for a reasonable price. Check out Amazon.com for some camera ideas.

Thank you,
David Guerra
