PASSION

Passion – 22 February 2016

Passion is defined as “strong and barely controllable emotion.”

That’s it! That is really it. When it comes to having passion, no other feeling comes close, except for love. That is probably why “Love” and “Passion” is found in the same sentence.

That is also why people commit to something or someone with a lot of passion because whether they want to believe it or not or say it or not, love is present.

Passion is what happens when we are overly enthusiast about something or someone. We like it so much that we want to be part of it, connect to it, make more of it and then become better and greater because of passion.

However, when we can only become better and greater when we work hard and do what it takes. Passion will be the catalyst that drives the work and the sacrifices that ensue. Passion must also be the catalyst that allows you to look beyond the naysayers, the doubters, and obviously the haters.

Having begun the journey of being better than you were yesterday or becoming greater because to evolve and grow you have to be greater than you were means that you alone must be the catalyst, the motivator to do so.

Others can tell you what you need to do to succeed. Others will give you tips, tricks, and life hacks to get ahead. While all that is well and good, in all actuality it is moot.

Moot in that all the words of advice, encouragement, and support mean nothing if you do not get up and do something, anything.

See, it all begins and ends with you. Fail that, then why even bother.

A fine line exists between success and failure.

That line is in everything we do. That line divides good from bad, pass from fail, start from stop, and so on.

That line must be respected and that is not negotiable.

Fail to respect that line and you will quickly find yourself on the side of bad, of fail, and of stop, you get the idea.

In whatever you choose to do, you must ensure that you are doing it for the right reasons.

When you choose to do it because it is easy or convenient then you fail. However, you must also consider that while you are doing it for the right reasons you could overstay your welcome. You will find yourself spinning your wheels.

Do not spin your wheels! Before it is too late, know when to take your foot off the pedal.

With passion not only comes great responsibility but great appreciation for doing what must be done.

That passion is what sets everything in motion. By putting in motion that which is necessary to succeed, to be better; you are well on your way to achieving that success.

Once on your way, commitment to that passion will take you the rest of the way.

Thus, by remaining committed no matter how difficult things get achieving the success you desire is all about assured.

Remember, that passion is the spark. Everything else is just adding fuel to the fire and that is the best thing that can happen.

Commitment, dedication, stick-to-it, and entrenching your passion will yield great results. However, those great results do not come from some ethereal place or out of a magician’s hat but from hard work.

Your hard work. You get out exactly what you put in.

Now this does not mean that you are stuck with getting only what you put in. Sure, there will be times that you get more and you get less but for the most part, you get what you put in.

So that means you not only have to work harder but work smarter because you alone are the only one with the passion, sure you can tell others about it but they will never have the same passion or level of passion you possess. Why? Because everyone is different and everyone will interpret your passion differently.

Never let their lack of understanding slow you down. See, when it comes to passion, your passion is what will make you a success provided you act on it. Others may see your passion and might help you along the way but they will never truly grasp just what that passion means to you and what you are working to achieve.
