There will come a time when you will find yourself with your back up against a wall and a decision must be made. The conundrum you find yourself in is usually rooted in something you did, said, or failed to do or say or, more than likely, you have allowed to be done or said to you. The decision is start prioritizing yourself. Dedicating everything you say and do to yourself first.
When it comes to dedicating to yourself it may be a bumpy road, an uncharted path, going to places you have never gone before.
Whether out of self-preservation or the next logical step in your personal growth, prioritizing yourself above all others will be difficult. This is something not to be taken lightly. If you have reached an age of over thirty and you continue to submit to the guilt others impose on you, it becomes even more difficult. There is no trick to prioritizing yourself, while it is simple to say and do, the trick or trap is sustaining the commitment that comes with making yourself the first and foremost.
You may lose contacts along the way.
Usually, the first ones to go are the ones that were using you for their nefarious reasons. They may be some of the closest people in your life. It may sting but you must do what is best for you, especially if those individuals could not stand to see you succeed and would use underhanded tactics to undermine all that you are trying to accomplish.
You deserve to surround yourself with people that support, encourage, and want you to succeed.
