In this week’s episode of the WALKING LEADER podcast and in honor of Veterans Day 2024, I take a page out of my life as a US Army Infantryman (MOS 11B) and share with you the 10 Things The U.S. Army Taught Me About Professional Development.
In this episode, I also share the 10 Things The U.S. Army Taught Me About Professional Development and how it still applies today.
The 10 Things The U.S. Army Taught Me About Professional Development are:
- Nothing is going to be handed to you.
- To move up, you have to take the necessary steps to do so.
- Get yourself a mentor.
- Volunteer and Prepare to be Voluntold
- Accept that the path you are on today might not be the path you will end up on.
- People will pull you down
- People will pull you up
- Sometimes your personal mission and the mission of the military DO NOT ALWAYS ALIGN.
- Leadership is NOT automatic.
- About Retention/ Trust Your Gut / Do It For Yourself
REMEMBER TO KEEP GOING BEYOND THE GRIND & KEEP GOING BEYOND THE HUSTLE BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE THE WALKING LEADER.
