7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

The The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is the one book that has done so much for so many people. Stephen Covey’s work to help change the human condition has certainly been rewarding. The books, the training, and the acceptance by so many the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People continues to create new leaders, advance existing leaders, and change the lives of all those that come in contact with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

For me, this book was a great precursor to the then week-long training I was fortunate enough to attended several years ago. As a former active duty Infantryman the US Army instilled in me a sense of self-discipline, responsibility and accountability. Once I left the Army, I had all that brewing inside me without a proper outlet. Then came the 7 Habits and with Dr. Covey’s teaching, coaching and guidance I was able to channel all of that into something that made my civilian life better.

Armed with the tools given to back to me by the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People my civilian life was back on track. Recharged and ready to move forward, I was looking at life from a different perspective. Over the course of the next years, I finished my Bachelor’s degree, went on to earn my Master’s in Business Administration. Then after than I went on write my first leadership book followed by my second. Then I began my historical fiction series.

Yes, I do attribute Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as the catalyst that help me redefine myself and that of those around me, family and friends included.

That’s why the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has the honor of being the first book in my Leadership Book Club.
